FREE AT LAST; FREE AT LAST!

John is headed to the world-famous Scripps Clinic in San Diego for medical treatment of his blood disorder leukemia. What better way to get there than a "road trip" book tour of his sponsor BORDERS BOOKS stores from Sacramento, to Davis, San Rafael, San Francisco, San Ramon, Palo Alto, San Jose, Monterey, Santa Barbara, LA, (Hollywood!), Long Beach and San Diego--and any other city he and his son, Rob, can hit on the way. So, join us on this journey...and this blog.

Tues. April 8th.
We made it to the San Diego--Carmel Mountain BORDERS just in time to catch the after-church crowd. Had another great day and decided to end the tour with our banner (which Rob earlier had hung outside between two shopping carts.) here being shown held by Jeff and Pam of BORDERS.

We arose at 6am to get on the road and be at BORDERS in Santa Barbara by noon. We made it with minutes to spare. What a great store! We were afforded a propitious spot at the front of the store from which I leaned into the path of entering customers. (See photo, right.)
Last night, we sailed in from S.F. and celebrated daughter Rebel's birthday with a little cut glass dancer gift as a reminder of a "road trip" she and I once took to New York where she tried out (successfully) for the Alvin Allee American Dance Academy. But by morning, she was off representing multi-national corporations and dad and son were selling books once again in the San Ramon store that has been so great for my novel, "Altar Boys." There, we were greeted by a table covered with a beautiful red cloth set up and waiting for us.We started the tour 12 hours and 5 stores ago with the launch from Sacramento. In Sacramento, John Lescroart stopped by and joined the tour signing his new, best-selling novel, Betrayal. By the time we got to San Rafael, we were attracting people to our table for Altar Boys by putting copies of Lescroart's book on our table. Then we hit upon a new marketing concept: Two for one; buy Poswall and steal Lescroart!
We are hoping to finish up in San Francisco... Stonestown Mall near SF State at 8:00pm. Then head over to Rebby's house to hangout with the tinys! Then wake up refreshed for a breakfast birthday... Happy b-day Rebby.(i call her Reb but Rebby sounds so cute.)
